An Experience
The neighborhood has everything from cozy bungalows to sprawling mansions and friendly neighbors from all walks of life. Within minutes of walking distance are some beautiful places, including: The Oliver Mansion, a 38-room Victorian house, the Studebaker National Museum and The History Museum, the K.C. De Rhodes House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and Tippecanoe Place, Clem Studebaker's historic mansion and restaurant, and the Civil Rights Heritage Center. Guests will also enjoy many local dining establishments within walking distance. Be sure to checkout Notre Dame while in the area! We are a quick 10-15 minute drive to campus.
Activities
The Concours d’Elegance at Copshaholm is apremier celebration of automotive design and styling in northern Indiana held every summer.
This baseball stadium is home to the South Bend Cubs, a minor league baseball team which plays in the Midwest League.
The second oldest historical society in Indiana, it has a children's museum, lots of historical items and exhibits as well.
A 16,000 square foot ice trail and pond is a premier winter destination for the South Bend region!
Michiana’s premiere professional orchestra. The South Bend Symphony engages the community in the exploration of orchestral music in all its forms.
A nationally recognized, pre-professional dance company and the resident dance company at the Morris Performing Arts Center. The annual performance of the Nutcracker is not to be missed!
The lighting pieces are interactive, and will be thematically colored to correspond with holidays and events. It is the only display of its kind in the entire world.
The Museum displays a variety of automobiles, wagons, carriages, and military vehicles related to the Studebaker Corporation and other aspects of American history

A great park along the St. Joseph River with lots to do. Great for a stroll along the river. Or visit the park and have lunch at the Howard Park Public House.
Downtown & Nearby
A statue of Mary stands upon this golden dome added in 1882 to the Main Building at Notre Dame.
Located in the heart of downtown, the museum features historical and contemporary art in five galleries, and offers instruction in its studios.
South Bend's premier convention center hold a variety of events throughout the year.
Located on Main Street in downtown South Bend, this main branch was recently renovated and expanded.
Take a tour of the Notre Dame campus to see this historical landmark. Campus is only a 12 minute drive.
Morris Performing Arts Center is a 2,564-seat concert hall located in downtown South Bend. It has shows year-round including the annual Nutcracker performance and off-broadway shows.
Neighborhood
With its tower, turret, and stone exterior resembling a castle, the Romanesque Revival house has been a familiar landmark on South Bend’s West Washington Street since 1888.
The K. C. DeRhodes House is a privately owned, prairie-style home within walking distance and was designed by famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
The Birdsell Mansion
Although currently undergoing a massive renovation that is expected to take many year, it is still a sight to behold.
Originally the private residence for Clem Studebaker, it now serves as a restaurant. Self guided tours are permitted and there is a brewery on the 3rd floor that serves craft beers.
Take a guided tour of this elegant 38-room Oliver Mansion, once home to the J.D. Oliver family. It is one of three historic houses owned by The History Museum.
Located in the heart of the neighborhood. You will hear the wonderful sound of the church bells every day at noon and 5 pm.
